Album #2 is finished!
We only started writing our latest album on February 1st as part of the RPM Challenge (see links). But yesterday, not four weeks after the first germs of ideas, we completed all eleven tracks in one mammoth mixing session after two fulls days of recording. To celebrate this, we've added four songs ("Loop", "Executive Lounge", "I Love it When You Swear" and "Kung-Fu Psychic")to our player on the Multimedia page. We've still got to work out exactly how we're going to release the album (and what to call it!), but at the moment it looks like it'll be download-only, with maybe a few physical copies to be sold at gigs. Meanwhile, don't forget the new There's Been A Murder EP, due out on April 6th! We're nothing if not productive.

Release date for There's Been A Murder EP
Mark your calendars! Coming down from our immense gig last night to a sold-out crowd at Kings Cross Water Rats (commonly agreed to be our best ever performance), we've been buoyed by the news that the new EP has a release date of April 6th 2010! It's already available to order on the Cherryade website, but if you want to hold on and buy it in a shop, that's the best time to do it! Meanwhile, work continues apace on our new album. Check the blog section to keep track of our activity!

Launch gig for There's Been A Murder EP - with THE FEATURES!
We have the honour of launching our new EP alongside some of our heroes! We've been enormous fans of The Features since John and Sharon saw them in Nashville about seven years ago, and have followed their rise to fame, releasing two magnificent albums (Exhibit A and Some Kind Of Salvation)supporting Kings of Leon (and recently signing to their label!), so when the chance to support them came about, the only thing we could say was YES! On top of that, our new EP "There's Been A Murder" is due for release very soon, so what better way to continue our brilliant year by combining the gig with a launch party?
So, on Wednesday 10th February, we'll be playing at King's Cross Water Rats. To celebrate, we're offering you a hearty deal; not only can you get tickets for five pounds (instead of ten on the door or seven in advance!), but we're offering a free copy of the EP to anyone who buys a ticket from us! If youre interested, just drop us a line using the 'contact' link on the right and drop us a line using the subject line 'Launch gig tickets'.
Note: This offer only applies to tickets bought from us directly
We'll be filling you in on the full details of the EP, including the proper release date shortly, but if you want to hear it now, just go to our Facebook or MySpace players and you can listen online now!

Taggart gets its radio debut!
BBC 6Music will be debuting our next single on January 24th on Tom Robinson's Introducing show. The show runs from 1am until 3am, and we'll be played towards the end. Of course, if you don't want to stay up that late, you can listen again, or listen to the song on our MySpace player. The info for the launch gig has been finalised, and we'll be letting you know about it next week!

Back in business in 2010
Three more gigs have been added to our itinerary for 2010; we managed to bag all of these in the last week, which means we're coming into the new year with all guns blazing! Next week is the Wilmington Arms for our chums at Goonite with Nila & The Rajas headlining. We're quite looking forward to that after Tuesday's band practice; our first in two months, but the cobwebs were soon shaken loose as we limbered back into the fray. The gigs after that deserve their own entries, and you'll hear all about them (and our new EP) very soon indeed!
